Roland Koch
Roland Koch was born in Uezwil, Switzerland, in 1959. He initially studied psychology and ethnology at the University of Zurich and then trained at the Swiss Acting Institute in Zurich. Following engagements in Celle, Konstanz, Hanover, and at the Berlin Volksbühne and Munich Residenztheater, he joined the Burgtheater ensemble in 1999. Since late 2011 he has been playing the role of Matteo Lüthi in the TV series Tatort Konstanz. Koch regularly gives guest lectures on stage and film design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. He also teaches drama at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna and character development at the Max Reinhardt Seminar. In 2015 he received the Nestroy Theatre Award in the Best Supporting Role category.
