Acoustic amplification

The Burgtheater offers an amplified acoustic signal for all theatregoers. During the performance in the theatre, you can pick up the signal on a radio frequency of 96,4 MHz. Any radio receiver, mobile phone or MP3 player with an FM reception function can pick up the amplified acoustic signal. Please use headphones when making use of this service.

The acoustic amplification is only available in the Burgtheater and not at our other venues. Please be advised that, for technical reasons, the acoustic amplification is not available on days with performances that offer a live audio description.

In addition, we offer selected seats in the stalls with inductive acoustic amplification for visitors with hearing aids for all performances at the Burgtheater.
Inductive acoustic amplification is available for the following seats in the Burgtheater:

• Right stalls:
  Rows 2–3, seats 1–4 
  Rows 4–7, seats 1–5

• Left stalls:
  Rows 10–13, seats 1–5
  Row 14, seats 1–4
• Wheelchair space in left stalls

The acoustic amplification is available for all performances in the Burgtheater (even those with a live audio description).

The Theater4All project offers live audio descriptions at selected Burgtheater performances. In addition to the text spoken on stage, the audio description narrates the action taking place onstage and describes the stage design and the actors’ movements.
During the performance in the theatre, you can pick up the audio description on a radio frequency of 99.2 MHz. Any radio receiver, mobile phone or MP3 player with an FM reception function can pick up the signal.
