WEIL IMMER DAS MEER VOR DER LIEBE IST SYLVIE ROHRER READS HERTHA KRÄFTNER
Based on the play of the same name by JÜRG AMANN, adapted by STEFAN WEBER
Although the Austrian poet Hertha Kräftner (1928–51) was only 23 years old when she died, her literary legacy, steeped in the existentialism of Sartre and Camus, brims with eloquent longing and profound descriptions of the world.
Her language is like music – gentle and desperate, quiet, and dedicated to the search for love. Accompanied by Viennese jazz musician Judith Schwarz, actor Sylvie Rohrer delves into the poetry and life of Hertha Kräftner, who, despite being one of the great poets of postwar Vienna, remains largely unknown to this day.
