Julia Windischbauer
Julia Windischbauer, born 1996 in Linz, trained at the Otto Falckenberg School of the Performing Arts in Munich. In 2019 she received the O.E. Hasse Prize, awarded by the Academy of Arts in Berlin, and took up her first engagement at the Munich Kammerspiele, where she worked with such directors as Toshiki Okada (The Vacuum Cleaner; 2020 Theatertreffen). In the 2020/21 season, she joined the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where one of her roles was that of Elizabeth in Mary Stuart (directed by Anne Lenk, 2021 Theatertreffen). In 2022 she was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize and the Diagonale Acting Prize for her performance in the film PARA:DIES (directed by Elena Wolff). As of the 2023/24 season, Julia Windischbauer is a permanent member of the Burgtheater ensemble.
