Dörte Lyssewski
Dörte Lyssewski was born in Lower Saxony in 1966. She trained at the University for Music and Theatre in Hamburg and began her stage career at the Berlin Schaubühne under Peter Stein’s directorship. Engagements at theatres and opera houses in Zurich, Montpellier, Bochum, Paris, Brussels, at the Burgtheater and the Wiener Festwochen, the Salzburg Festival and the Ruhrtriennale followed. She has received the Kainz Medal, the Eysoldt Ring and the Nestroy Theatre Award, among other distinctions. In addition to her theatre engagements, she also works for various radio stations, sound studios and film production companies. In 2015 she published her first book with the Berlin-based publishing house Matthes & Seitz. Lyssewski is the German dubbing voice of Hollywood actor Cate Blanchett. She has been a member of the Burgtheater ensemble since 2009.
